Farewell, Aperoli 😘

Happy 30th Birthday! You have finally hit the magnificent milestone where your engine is officially classified as a vintage classic. Welcome to the oldtimer club, where you are now legally too cool to be considered just “older”.

We have some bittersweet news about our beloved car. 🚗

We recently took it in for its TÜV inspection, and it came back with a rather long checklist of required repairs before it can safely hit the road again. Because the total cost to fix everything adds up to a small fortune, we have made the difficult decision that it is time to say goodbye rather than reinvesting that money.

We are absolutely heartbroken to part with it, and we are so incredibly sorry for this unexpected turn of events! 💔

We enjoyed travelling with you for more than 4.5 years!

From epic road trips to wild rallies, we loved every single journey with you!

Granted, ADAC will likely be relieved to finally stop getting our emergency calls. LOL.

PS: ADAC is the best backup plan ever! We are so grateful for the rescues – from the remote Isle of Skye in Scotland to the A8 near Munich, and even that random workday breakdown on the way home from Stuttgart.

Every single trip felt like a great adventure because we knew we were ready for anything.

It all started in Shanghai. We were watching television and came across a vintage car rally sweeping through Thailand and Vietnam, hosted by a group of British actors. Right then and there, the Oldtimer travel bug bit us. We were absolutely captivated and instantly hooked.

After hubbys motorcycle accident and rehab recovery in 2021, he decided to swap two wheels for four (at least for a couple of months…). That’s when memories of that favorite TV show sparked a new dream: finding a youngtimer.

We signed up for our very first rally with only four weeks to find a car and get it race-ready. It was crazy, but we made it happen! Sadly, hubby had to sit this one out due to another sudden knee surgery.

Instead, my dad stepped in as my co-driver. Together, we conquered our first 5,000 kilometers, discovering so many breathtaking corners of Germany. And Aperoli performed beautifully, surprisingly holding up through every single mile!

Aperoli made its solo debut at Lake Como in Italy. The car was an absolute hit – we received so many smiles and thumbs up along the way.

The impressive lineup features the demanding Deutschland Rally, three appearances at the iconic Creme 21, the Mini Run, the Bosch Classic, the Frankonia Seenplatte, and an epic adventure across Scotland.
