Saturday night, 28C degrees at 10pm. Summer. Sunshine. Aperoli meeting other oldies. Live music. Burger & popcorn.

Autokino as soon as it is dark enough. A film from 1981 “The Cannonball Run”. An Oldtimer, of course.

*A Cannonball Run is an unsanctioned speed record for driving across the United States, typically accepted to run from New York City’s Red Ball Garage to the Portofino Hotel in Redondo Beach near Los Angeles, covering a distance of about 2,830 miles (4,550 km). They made the drive in 32 hours and 51 minutes. Racing on public roads is now illegal in the U.S. Additionally, driving at the average speeds reached by many Cannonballers would break most posted speed limits… lol.
The last Cannonball Run record, set in May 2020, is 25 hours and 39 minutes. This record was achieved by Arne Toman and Doug Tabbutt in a modified 2016 Audi S6. They drove from New York City to Los Angeles, covering a distance of 2,816 miles. Their average speed was around 110 mph, including stops, with a moving average of 112 mph.
Anybody up for the challenge?

Well, we enjoyed watching beautiful old cars, a burger, and the film! Nice summer night with American flavor like in the good old days (I guess) 🙂
