It’s rally time! It’s one of the rallies which was delayed last year, for not getting rally car road approval. Bummer.

Aperoli in good shape ✅ (after another ADAC pick-up 2 weeks ago)
Weather: a dream of sunshine & blue sky ✅
Driver: ready ✅
Co-pilot: kind of ready ✅ (still trying to get rid of a cold)

The MINI RUN – as the name says – is all about Minis. New ones (including one electric mini whose driver was nervous about the total distance). Classic ones. And Aperoli in the middle (with 10l extra gasoline on board to be safe).
21 Minis in total, 12 classic and 9 new minis. Our starter number, the lucky #12.
This was another rally, fitting our motto: The Last Minute Racing. Why? Aperoli only running again since a couple of days, we got the dirtiest car (well, it’s a racing car, lol), started looking at the road book examples the night before… and a bit overwhelmed at the rally itself… the good news we made it. Yeah! 💪🏻
Good to know: our indicator stops if the oil reaches >90C degrees & the solution: put the heat on to cool down the car until the indicator works again. Hot feet included.
Beautiful ride across the Black Forest with superb weather.
We all made it back to the target without any accidents or break downs. That Aperol Spritz was very much appreciated.
We were 9th 🏆 —> correction: we were 5th 💪🏻
Wow! What a surprise. We weren’t so bad at the time controls and made a new experience on driving per map extract without too much information. I still don’t understand how to navigate through “ — . — . — .” dash & dotted roads. Lol. The lead of the rally took over organizing only a few years ago. She always won 🥇 the former rallies and that’s why the niveau is set on a high level (good excuse for us, lol).
Also very important: enjoying dinner & the evening with all the MINI RUNners.
We made it. It was fun! Meeting so many good looking MINIs and their drivers and co-pilots! It was great to be on a MINI only rally.
Time to go home and prepare for the next adventure coming up soon. Need a new tire. A good clean up. An oil change, etc.
