Our start time today: early… 8:38am at the Autostadt VW.
Today’s route: finally leaving Wolfsburg (after early morning coordination problems…) & back in the Harz going north-west to Niedersachsen.
Indian summer in the Harz along the way. Passing by villages famous for mines in the past. Cruising on 800 meters above sea level up and down the hills. Another fun driving day today, discovering new places we haven’t been to.
Learning new German abbreviations: OD = Ortsdurchfahrt (passing through a village). Can be essential if you are on a rally.
The most important button is red these days. That’s how we reset the trip counter.
Passing through Hildesheim – alte Heimat & that’s where hubby & I met and fell in love. Awwww.
Speaking of love: do we fight in the rally car? Oh hell yes! I start screaming when he’s not seeing (or stopping at) red lights. And grumpy driver is telling off, not listening or following any navigation instructions from the co-pilot… but hey, that’s just totally normal… It gets better over time and with a beer at the bar after the day is finished. Lol.
Today’s excursion: stop at VW Nutzfahrzeuge. Nice old models.
